In order to make your shopping experience a better one we wanted to make the store as visual and simple as possible.
One of the ways we have done this is by creating a system of colorful product symbols.

The following is a comprehensive list of all the symbols available throughout the store.

Age Group
All of our products are marked with 'Age Keys'. Here are a few examples:
- = from 9 month
- = from 2 years
- = from 4-8 years

Toy Care Instructions How do I care for my new toys? Please read trough the 3 paragraphs below. We want you to enjoy your new wooden and fabric toys for a long time.

Wooden Toys
Wooden toys can be wiped clean with a very damp cloth. Item should be immediately towel dried. It is best to 'spot clean' unfinished wooden toys such as many of the natural block sets.
- A wooden toy should never be immersed in water.
- A mild detergent soap can be used in addition to the water on the damp cloth. Again though, the product should be immediately towel dried.
- When wooden toys make contact with babys spittle this is absolutely harmless.
- A wooden toy should not be sprayed with anti-bacterial sprays or harsh detergents.
- Do not put wooden toys into the dishwasher or washing machine for cleaning!
- One of the natural characteristics of wood is that it can absorb and give off water. Therefore, it is possible that wooden pieces may break, splinter or peel after being soaked in water. Even in hygienic environments, it is absolutely sufficient to clean wooden pieces with a damp cloth.

Fabric Toys
Most of the fabric toys we carry can be hand or machine washed with a mild detergent at lukewarm water. Do not use fabric softener or tumble dry, as this may cause the fabric to pull or shrink. See tag for detailed instructions. Larger items, like furniture pieces, that include fabric, we recommend spot cleaning with warm water and a mild detergent.

Plastic Toys
- Spielstabil toys are dishwasher safe. See instructions for details.
- Bruder toys can be immersed in water and cleaned with mild detergent.
- Other plastic toys can also just be cleaned with at moist cloth and mild detergent.

Toy Awards
Spiel Gut (Germany)

This toy is recommended by spiel gut (Good Toy).

What does this mean? Since 1954, educationalists, psychologists, doctors, technicians, experts in design, chemistry, electronics ... and parents - scientific and practical people - have been examining and assessing toys - from babies' rattles to material for experimenting. They work on a honorary basis and are independent of the toy industry and retailers.

Spiel gut recommendation signifies that this toy has been tested with children and examined by experts with a positive result.

Their criteria: play value, material, workmanship, construction, durability, safety, design, size, quantity, quality of the instructions for playing or making, suitability for the appropriate age group ...

Gift Wrapping
Although the only thing better than receiving a box from Maukilo is to open it and discover the items beautifully gift wrapped by us - unfortunately, some items are too large to be gift wrapped.

We are constantly adding wonderful new products to the store and they are markes with a pink NEW triangle in the upper left corner. Items are maked NEW for 90 days.

Musical
This symbol is mostly used with rattles and music boxes to tell you if a toy contains any bells, rustling foil, a music box etc.

Drop Ship
Sorry, but you won't see this symbol anywhere in the store, because we stock all of our toys in our warehouse in NY.
