The Rossberg company's headquarters with its administration and production facilities are located in the outskirts of the renown Bavarian Forest climatic health resort of Lam, near the Czech border. The "District of Lam" means the centre of Bavarian Forest, jutting into zhe valley of the river named "Weisser Regen", and bedded in between the mountain chains of Arber and Osser. The Big Arber with an altitude of 1,456 m being the highest mountain of Germany's largest continuous forest region, is an attractive hiking area with a variety of events offered in summer as well as a snow-proof centre for wintersports, even to include demanding World Cup downhill races.
In Lam there are 3,000 people living, with more than 200 of whom being employed in the Rossberg company. Besides, tourism is has experienced an excellent development and with almost 400,000 visitors staying overnight the location belongs to the leading tourist resorts of this region. The beautifully situated grand Steigenberger Hotel in Lam is known on supraregional scale and underlines the attractiveness of this holiday resort.

PRODUCTION
Tree - Our material no. 1 is wood. At an annual consumption of more than 10,000 cubic metres, mainly Bavarian Forest grown beech, yoke elm, and maple are used for processing. Already during material selction, an ideal quality is looked for.
Sawmill - In the Rossberg GmbH & Co.KG own sawmill the trees are cut to boards and planks as well as chopped up to machine suited pieces.
Wood Storeage - In our huge storage area, the woods are dried and kept ready for usage.
Cut to Size - Depending on orders position and the respective goods demand, the various wood thicknesses are planed in our own joiner shops first and then cut to size as needed. Here, too, the woods are inspected. Dark and light woods are separated, unusable parts sorted out.
Small Parts - Here the wooden parts are allocated to the various working processes: grindling, milling, and painting.
Lathing - Our big choice of articles and toys, games, etc. requires an appropriate further processing. Here they are milled, drilled, brushed and given the final touch. It's still manual work that ranks first. There is no working step to function without our skilled personnel's participation and inspection.
Painting - The majority of our products is dyed and painted over. The water based dyes and paints are saliva-proof and free from any contaminants. They comply with any of the applicable guidelines set forth in the safety standard! Already during paint application we protect our people. Proper exhaust systems and instruments ensure a safe working place. The final product offers your customers utmost safety.
Single Parts - A lot of shapes and colours has been created. Whether in nature or dyed, for every taste something is available. Here, too, it is checked whether a defective part has crept in.
Assembly - Both on company's premises and at home, these parts are properly and professionally assembled by hand work. The toy is getting its shape! By virtue of its long standing experience in wooden toy fabrication, HEROS has acquired the necessary know-how, thus warranting a safe and stable production.
Packaging - In many a variant and several packaging designs are products are prepared for their dispatch to the customer. Of course, a visually attracting enclosure for our products is at stake here. Such enclosure is to provide safety and stability as well. In this regard wie place utmost emphasis on recyclable materials, which are considered as storage places for our natural toys over many years.
Final Product - Carefully packed, our toys as made by HEROS and Riedermuehle are ready for every customer - ready for many hours of fun, joy, and entertainment. There is almost no other product that could retrospeckt to such a degree of familiarity in the wooden brick and toys segments like HEROS. What had been good and important for us as children in order to train the motor activities, brain and feelings, cannot mean anything different for our successors. Just decide, whether the growing generation should train its play instint in al natural way or be forced to resort unreal high tech products.

Power Plant / Power Generation - In our company own Power Plant we generate the necessary power for our machinery and production. Here we utilise any wood waste as they are brought about as a result of the various production steps. By such combustion we make use of a clean and environmentally compatible power source. An efficient raw material utilistaion guarantees our customers a fair price!
Filtration System - To close the natural cycle properly, we did neither spare cost nor pains in order to make everything correct. Most modern filtration systems ensure low emission exhaust air is converted into fresh oxygen by our surrounding forests...
Hence, everything starts from the beginning again...
European Standard EN 71
Safety in terms of toys means a complex subject. For decades, specialist from all areas of toys’ world have intensively made up their minds as to how any endangering of our children by toys can be excluded as far as possible. The result of that work is summarised in the Toys Safety Standard EN71, which has a binding effect on every market participant throughout Europe.
Any toy being offered in Europe for sale needs to conform with this safety regulation. This safety law does not only prescribe what safety properties toys have to be provided with, but it also states in detail the tests that need to be made in order to enable such safety properties to be certified.
All toy are subject to a Sight and Feel, Fall, Tensile, Impact, Swallow and Soak Test.
